How to Train your Virgin - Book Review by Andrew Davis

How to Train your Virgin, the first erotic fiction novel by Wednesday Black, is a fairy tale that doesn't start with once upon a time. The book instead starts with a graphic dinnertime sex scene that takes place between the King and Queen of a mythical realm. It jumps right into the end of the royal anniversary dinner where, while still in the dining room, the royal couple decides to get their freak on with a magical "vine girl" as the other dinner guests look on. This encounter reveals the queen's jealousy and frustration because of the kings preference to fuck the vine girl instead of her.
After this humiliating experience, the queen plots revenge against her husband by vowing to deflower the last two human virgins in the kingdom before the king can. The rest of the book follows the queens plots to deflower the young humans by attempting to trick them into giving consent in their dreams. The Queen has a difficult time getting consent from the virgins because of their traumatic  past which shadows their dreamscape with gruesome wartime images. After much coaxing, the Queen finally gets consent. Working behind the Kings back, the Queen proceeds to forcefully fuck both virgins. The King stumbles on the threesome in the forest where, much to the Queens confusion, he laughs. It turns out that the queen was actually with a disguised vine girl and Freight, a well endowed centaur.
The Queen then brutally murders the vine girl and curses the King, but before she can unleash a violent fury on the King she is interrupted by the black dog messenger who begs the two to come with him. The black dog brings them to the real virgins who are awkwardly making love together. The royal couple watches the two for a bit before deciding to rekindle the love that they have for each other and live happily ever after.
This book popped my erotic fiction chery and I think that I liked it. The way in which Black paints a believable fantasy realm with a touch of the absurd makes for a short but pleasurable read. I didn't care for the plot very much because it was the reason for the characters actions was unclear in some places. The characters strong emotions and unique personalities made up for the plots sloppy performance and kept me wanting more.
This is the first book in the New Lovers series of books by the publisher Badlands Unlimited. I had thought long and hard about purchasing the following two books We Love Lucy, and God I Dont even Know your Name, but I am still on the fence about the commitment. This is not to say that I wont read anymore erotic fiction novels, however the stigma that surrounds the genera and lack of well known authors prevents me from actively pursuing another novel at this point. I will however continue to reference this book for inspiration on certain occasion when i'm in the right mood.
